History of Segway the Door Tours
Segway the Door Tours was first established as Segway of Door County in June of 2005, the second Segway Authorized Dealer in Wisconsin. The summer of 2005 was occupied with a cone course in front of Nelsons Shopping Center on Hwy 42, a few tours, and a run of the parade and festival circuit. People could pay $10 or $15 to ride the obstacle course for 10 or 15 minutes.
In the summer of 2006, more advertising resulted in being very busy doing tours in Peninsula State Park, Washington Island, Road to Cana Island, and the Ridges Road.
In February 2007, Segway of Door County changed its name to Segway the Door Tours in order to focus more on Segway Tours and less on selling Segway PTs. The 2007 season introduced more than 400 people in 9 weeks to the Segway PT. Several people came back for second, third, or fourth tours.
